All students who want to study in Australia need student visa except permanent residents or citizens.
However, how many of us heard of subsequent temporary application charge?
Subsequent temporary application charge is additional charge for who holds a previous visa listed here http://www.immi.gov.au/Help/Pages/fees-charges/previous-visas-table.aspx ) which they applied for while the applicant was in Australia.
Applicant outside Australia does not have subsequent temporary application charge. eg)
visa subclass | Base application charge | Additional applicant charge 18 and over |
Additional applicant charge under 18 |
Independent ELICOS Sector (Subclass 570) | $535 | $405 | $135 |
Schools Sector (Subclass 571) | $535 | $405 | $135 |
Vocational Education & Training (Subclass 572) | $535 | $405 | $135 |
Applicant in Australia has subsequent temporary application charge in certain cases. eg)
Visa subclass | Base application charge | Additional Applicant Charge 18 and over |
Additional applicant charge under 18 | Subsequent temporary application charge |
Independent ELICOS Sector (Subclass 570) | $535 | $405 | $135 | $700 |
Schools Sector (Subclass 571) | $535 | $405 | $135 | $700 |
Vocational Education & Training (Subclass 572) | $535 | $405 | $135 | $700 |
Example
1. If your previous visa IS NOT listed in the table and you are applying for 572 visa by yourself.
$535(Base application charge)
2. If your previous visa IS listed in the table and you are applying for 572 visa by yourself.
$535(Base application charge) + $700(Subsequent temporary applicant charge) =$1,235
3. If your previous visa IS listed in the table and you are applying for 572 visa and have a partner (over 18) who has same condition,
$535(Base application charge) + $700(for yours) + $405 (Additional applicant) + $ 700(for partner’s) = $2,340
